How It Works

The Art of Needlepoint

Needlepoint dates back to the Middle Ages, and uses yarn and specific stitch patterns to craft intricate designs.

Initially, it was used for practical purposes, such as mending garments and decorating household items. The needlepoint stitches weave together yarn to create long-lasting fabric, more similar to a tapestry than the surface-decoration of embroidery.

Needlepoint is the perfect medium for heirlooms like Christmas stockings — timeless, long-lasting, and stunningly detailed.
